A Tour Guide to Missouri’s Civil War

Series: Civil War
Presented By
Gregory Wolk

Author Gregory Wolk discusses his new book, A Tour Guide to Missouri’s Civil War, the first comprehensive sesquicentennial driver’s guide to Civil War battlefield sites in Missouri.

To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War, Wolk’s book highlights more than 230 sites and scores of little-known historical facts. Missouri witnessed more Civil War battles than any other state except Virginia and Tennessee. Wolk notes in the book that almost half of the battles fought in 1861 occurred in Missouri. Wolk is president of Missouri’s Civil War Heritage Foundation, Inc.
